OSW Services & Pilot Projects - Introduction

OSW provides a wide range of training and employment services for people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. Our services are designed to create a clear yet flexible route into vounteering, training, education or work.
OSW aims to be at the cutting edge in the range of services we provide. The nature of homelessness is continually evolving so we try to ensure that we develop services that are imaginative and experimental, to provide new solutions to new problems.
For homeless people there are often many interlinked barriers which have to be overcome if they are to secure and sustain employment and housing, and thereby reconnect with mainstream society. A major part of OSW’s work is in testing new approaches to helping people overcome these barriers and we do this through piloting innovative new programmes which look beyond established (and perhaps entrenched) working practices. We hope that the lessons learnt from these programmes will inform and influence future working practice in the homeless sector and more widely.
Information about pilot projects that we are currently running, or have recently completed, can also be found in this section of the site.
