Vacancies at Connection at St. Martin's

From July 1st, the Connection at St Martin’s will be operating out of a state of the art centre following an 18 month programme of redevelopment at its iconic site in Central London. Building on this opportunity we will be doubling the size of our Employment and Training Team putting us in an ideal position to tackle the issue of Worklessness within the homeless population in addition to our core day centre services. We have the following new posts:

Employment Support Worker (Ref: WSP08-07)
This new post aims to develop partnerships with employers, and provide support and advice to enable them to recruit from our client base and develop a work placement scheme.  Post holders will provide job coaching to clients and develop a post employment support service.

Essential: Experience in supporting clients to improve their employability.  An NVQ 4 Careers Guidance/coaching diploma or equivalent, or be willing to undertake further training

Vocational Trainer (Ref: WSP08-08)
As part of our training team, you will deliver our accredited ICT course, develop our personal development and financial literacy courses, and undertake some residential training. 

Essential: Experience in delivering I.C.T. and other training to socially excluded clients.  Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills status (QTLS) or significant teaching experience with the ability and willingness to work towards QTLS.

2 x Careers Advisors:  (Ref: WSP08-09)
Careers Advisors provide a vocational guidance service, assist clients find appropriate further education, training, paid or voluntary employment, producing detailed action plans and using modern guidance techniques.  They also signpost to our other teams and partner agencies as well as provide an outreach service.

Essential: Significant experience of delivering careers guidance to a range of client groups. Qualification in Careers Guidance (Q.C.G.) or N.V.Q.4 Guidance.

Initially, above posts are funded until April 2009, however we expect funding to be continued.

Careers Advisor (Maternity Leave Cover): (Ref: WSP08-10) 8 months maternity leave cover, June 08 to January 09.  Details as for Post above

All posts: Salary NJC scale 6/SO1 scp 26 – 31 starting salary £24,588 p.a.  35 hrs per wk including occasional unsocial hours. 5% non-contributory pension scheme post-probation and 30 days annual leave p.a.
