OSW recognises that our day-to-day activities have an impact upon the environment and is committed to comply with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations that affect the organisation. OSW also takes an active role in promoting environmental awareness and practices amongst organisations it works with.

In particular:

• OSW applies the waste hierarchy in order to minimise waste production
• OSW strives to select suppliers which comply and exceed their environmentally sound and sustainable standards
• OSW takes an active role in minimising the use of energy within its premises
• OSW encourages the use of public transport for guests and employees.
• OSW works with partner agencies to raise their awareness of the environment and promote the environmental policy

This policy is communicated to all staff and working partners.

OSW's Environmental Working Group takes the lead in the implementation of the policy with the support of senior management, OSW staff and volunteers. The policy will be reviewed annually.
